Authenticity is considered as an important and obligatory aspect of EFL teaching by many researchers in TEFL theory and teachers in the EFL classroom.
The aim of this course is to examine different views, definitions and examples of authenticity and authentic texts with a specific focus on successful foreign language teaching and learning.
In addition to theoretical backgrounds, the course focuses on implications for teaching and actual teaching practice. Aspects of curricula and various materials for schools will also be explored.
Participants are invited to investigate a particular topic in greater detail and to actively engage in the discussions and explorations.
The specific topics for this seminar will be negotiated in the first session and the course programme will be finalized in the second meeting.
A list of suggestions will be provided which can be modified by the participants according to individual preferences and interests.
